Founded and registered with the Vienna Stadt-schulrat in 1986, the school was known as Vienna Christian School and originally served a community of missionary families in Vienna. The school began with 25 students in a rented building in the 10th district.
By the early 1990s, enrollment was over 100 and a larger facility was needed. Renovations began on a former paper factory in the 19th district, and in early September 1992, the school year began at this new site with 156 students and 40 faculty and staff.
In 1995, the school board carefully evaluated the vision of the school. The original vision of serving North American missionary families was expanded to include the growing international community in Vienna.
Since that time, ICSV has relocated to the 22nd district and the number of international students has risen dramatically. Today, students from around the world have the opportunity to receive excellent instruction in an environment characterized by vibrant faith in Jesus Christ.
With over 240 students in 2011 and a rich history over its 25-year existence, ICSV has many reasons to thank God for His care and provision. We continue our commitment to serve the students from the international and Austrian communities in Vienna with excellence and faith.
