School is a very special place for our elementary students. They spend the entire day together with their classmates. They relate to one another for hundreds of hours during a single school year. This time together creates a real “family,” a very special “family.” This is why the loving leadership of our teachers is so important.
Wearing the different hats of teacher, supervisor, and friend can be complicated at times, but that is what our teachers do so well. They know that touching the student’s heart is the doorway to the mind, and they love doing that for their students. Teacher supervision of students results in self-discipline, guided growth, and student safety. And finally, group activities of many kinds bring about the joys of unity and closeness.
The “family” works hard together, learning the concepts and skills necessary to grow into mature, responsible adults. The Language Arts and Math programs build the foundations necessary for academic success. The study of Literature, History, Science, Fine Arts, and the Bible, encourage students to think through and discuss real life situations and possible solutions. For students who do not have English as their first language, we provide English Language Learner classes (ELL) to speed their language acquisition.
Our students participate in many projects, and special activities together. This results in personal accomplishments as well as cooperative, teamwork experiences.
There is a family joy in celebrating God’s love for us and for His caring enough to be with us always as our Master Teacher.
It’s exciting!
